Underwater pool leak points

Hydrostatic Valve Testing & Underwater Pool Repairs

A deteriorated, obstructed or poorly sealing hydrostatic valve can become a significant leak point. We inspect and test the valve area underwater before recommending repair or replacement.

Possible signs of a valve leak

  • Fast or unexplained pool water loss
  • Water level continuing to fall with equipment off
  • Visible damage or debris around the valve plate
  • Dye movement into the valve or surrounding joint
  • Previous repairs around the main-drain area

Diagnosis comes first

A low water level does not automatically prove the hydrostatic valve is responsible. Pipework, lights, skimmers, fittings and shell defects can produce similar symptoms.

We inspect and dye test the area, then compare the finding with the rest of the pool before identifying the appropriate repair pathway.

Test before you repair

01

Inspect

Assess the plate, valve, surrounding joint and pool condition.

02

Dye test

Check for water movement at the suspected leak point.

03

Compare

Rule out other common underwater and plumbing faults.

04

Repair pathway

Explain whether sealing, replacement or further testing is suitable.
